Race 1: 2-5-1

Tan Tat Jet is the one I like in this. Drawn to get a good clear run at them. Has weight relief of the topweight and handled Gran Sasso pretty comfortably last start. Definitely the way to go in the first. Gran Sasso is next best, think he can take a controlling position on the speed and be a little harder to toss than last time. Romping third best.

Race 2: 3-6-7-8

Track and form are the key points that have determined my selections here. Time to Laugh is in really good form and saves his best for this track. He's not that well respected so he will be over the odds around the 8-1 mark and worth a small ticket in this. Jootoo Gemini is up and about and might get the rain affected ground she is looking for. Further to her chances she loves this track so definitely second best. One Way Or Another was ordinary last start but worth another look just on what he is capable of, and We Wonder won excellently last start shooting through along the rails.

Race 3: 4-3-1

This is a tricky one and track conditions will probably play a decisive role. I like Sister Sweet but I guess there would be question marks on a Heavy track as she hasn't seen one. Interesting to note at this track and distance recently she gets 1.5kgs for beating Rumbird. Yes Rumbird turned the tables last start, but he has to contend with a serious weight on a wetter track. Sister Sweet for me from Kerdem who was very solid last start, then Rumbird.

Race 5: 6-3-8

Thought Danever could win again from Frenzillian and Sand Sweeper.

Race 6: 8-7-1-5

I really like one here in Sea Battle. Excellent first up performance behind a real winner in Scenic Silver. Lots of form behind him in that and he looked good chasing to the line. Really liked some of his performances last campaign including that second at the Valley when it was a real leaders track and he came off the pace. I think he's a good solid bet in this. Dr Nipantuck the hardest to beat, looked good running on last start and goes well here and plows through the wet. The weight difference between the top two is significant however. Jungle Ruler third best, preferred around a bend and might get an easy lead. Roman's Image will be right there as well, wasn't a bad performance in behind them last start, and this really suits. Note my selection order...Sea Battle, Romans Image, Jungle Ruler, Dr Nipantuck.

Race 7: 5-4-2

Think this race will be dominated by the two impressive debut Sandown winners in Turing and Heart. Turing trialled the absolute house down at Cranbourne early this week and looks to have this race at his mercy. Be prepared to overlook his second run, was caught in a wide position on that occassion and sent for a spell straight-away. Heart will be the hardest to beat. Looked a million dollars on his first two runs then struggled against the cream and when stepped up in distance. Around this distance and track looks a threat. Running low an ideas for third going for Eightforall.

Race 8: 2-10-9

Just Curious is very adept at this track and distance and absolutley fly's second up. This is very moderate and I think she can win this without too much trouble. Justsay Sumthink I rate the hardest to beat because I think there is sufficent speed for her to run on, I see her as a real danger on a deteroiating track. Third best is One Perfect Day who does possess some ability.

Ballarat: Race 4

Sirius Miss should win this. Won't be any fabulous odds as it has been replayed on TVN quite often its last performance, and Ben Melham is in the hot seat for his ride where he has been questioned on his vigour from the 600m mark. The omen here is Craig Newitt's first ride on an unkown Zabeel horse called Efficient. This horse finished with similar power over 1200m and up to 1600m on a big track like Ballarat highly suits against moderate opposition. Expect it to be flip of the coin but it will win by 5 lengths.

Turing and Sirius Miss are best bets.
