Moonee Valley
Exclusive Report 25th October
Race 1: 9-8-5

Forgiving Kariba Kariba for his scratchy performance first up. He trialled awesome then ran rather ordinary chasing Mrs Waters and co at Cranbourne. But that wasn't his best Oliver was niggling at him pretty much from the outset, so I think there is improvement to come. Last time second in he went like an absolute bullet 1000m at Moonee Valley. That night they clipped along pretty quick, he travelled sweetly to the turn and then was just let loose and looked great. If he can find that second up form he will win this no doubt. Betting on his second up best here. Maxisun is the hardest to beat. Should get to about 4th or so in the run with extreme toe in the race shown by Alexander Bettle, Mrs Waters then Allied Force. He should get first crack it at them and if he can handle the turn he will go extremely close. Gran Sasso next best will enjoy the speed up front and is nimble enough to pick his way through the field.. Suspect best tote punters will leave the door ajar for Kariba Kariba, and an eachway gamble on him is the recommendation and you can save comfortably backing Maxisun the place.
Race 2: 7-6-13

Clear selection here with Our Joan Of Arc. Beat a very handy field in Sydney that has already produced subsequent City winners in Horizons and Come Hither. Oliver again, and he will know what to do from one, ensuring that she uses that gate to advantage. Not enough speed out wide that barrier one will be a traffic issue. The gaps will appear and she should win unless there's something special in this. Starspangledbanner next best then No Comment both debutants.
Race 3: 6-2-7-4

The firm ground and experience seemed to spark Returntosender along last start at Echuca where he won increasing his margin with every stride. Should be able to control the race from barrier three and looms as a nice eachway prospect in this, though you will be lucky to get 4's. Fly Higher and it looked to have a clear edge on there rivals one of the two I expect to win. All Dwayne Dunn has to do is ensure he has clear running from the 600m and Fly Higher will be all over the finish, so long as she hasn't had enough. She's a bit one paced but she still has more class than these so need to respect her. Bauble is a solid horse who should get the 1600m and is a sound multiples prospect from Avionics who's best performance was here this course and distance. Should get a good run in front with Kelconi with her but not applying any serious pressure.
Race 4: 10-1-3-9-7
Again not a race that I'm super keen in playing but I can narrow it down for you. Millbank was above average at Cranbourne suggesting they left something in the tank after it's first up average performance at Flemington. Speed will be medium to potentially hot depending on whether Stanton wants to cross them from out wide. Montana Flyer, Tully Dreamer and Stanton like to lead so it won't be slow. Millbank should get the sit on these and gives you the impression that he can win this. I'm speccing a few visitors in Arjuna and Ooleo as next best. Both come to the race with good records, and this is not that hot. Stanton next best, probably preferred at the 1200m and Naku Penda who should go better that last start on top of the ground and back to Moonee Valley. Could use the two barrier to advantage.
Race 5: 10-9-2-12

Before I get into my tips here should first of all say that don't want to be apart of Morgan Dollar backing up over 1200m WFA or Lucky Secret for that matter anything longer than 900m. So of the favourites that leaves Typhoon Zed drawn 5, yep he goes in and Bel Mer who hasn't been knocked about too much this Spring and from barrier 4 she gets a chance. In saying that I like a few roughies in this. Chinchilla Rose is my top selection because I think she has the ability to win, and Chairmanoftheboard is the other roughie you should consider because he is flying, loves the Valley, is a big horse and the weight won't bother him and he should slot in easily from the outside draw with Lucky Secret likely to break up the field enough early. He's a great place bet in the race COB and Chinchilla Rose perhaps a good straight out bet, if she produces what she produced third up last time off two average runs she will win this. Typhoon Zed next best from Bel Mer.
