Race 1:

Going for a really good horse here who might just be ready to improve with fitness on his side and a distance that suits. That horse is Light Vision. They have really taken there time with him to fully mature and it should start paying dividends. I like him to win from Fast Future who's been putting together even better performances on the board and now steps to his distance range as well with a very light weight. A definite danger horse, only marked down slightly as he's drawn inside and doesn't appear to be a Caulfield type of horse. Dane Julia and Like It Is next best but don't excite. In fact the race doesn't excite.
Race 2 :

Montaon I thought was one of the bright sparks to come out of the Warrnambool Carnival. Was going to win it's race a long way out and really turned it on when expected. I think he can rise in grade here and beat these. They are not particularly strong. Good Red is second best. Good efforts behind good horses in Brough Superior (who should have won the W.Cup) and Grand Destiny. Next best are Gorky Park the class runner and then Go and Get. He had the temerity to take off mid-race from the tail and still be too good last start. Caulfield should suit both there rolly polly style up on the speed.
Race 3 :

Quite like one here but will need a good ride from Craig Williams to get the job done in Hezabruiser. I think Not A Copy is the horse that has drawn to win so if the odds are good for him I suggest to go his way. The money was avalanched on Hezabruiser last start and there is a fair spruik on him. I don't think we will get the odds we need. Both will take up a relatively foward position with Going Dutch Wrencher and Palace General running along. I think Not A Copy will be in a more favourable position to win than Hezabruiser and the odds will be I suspect higher and therefore more favourable. Third best Wrencher - he's going well.
Race 4 :
There's a smart one in this crew Ortensia. Drawn favourably for a speedster too and Caulfield shoud suit. Worth following here. Second best is a bit of guesswork but going for Danny O'Briens Lucky Thunder just in front of Pride of Lago.
Race 5:

Tipping Beaming who is selected because she will be better for that good recent outing and looks the perfect kind of horse to scamper around Caulfield. Just tipping it in front of Magic Of Melbourne who won well at the provincials, but just be a little careful in assessing him as that track at Ballarat was extremely leader biased. Good win anyhow. Gooyang and Avelon Royale are equal third best.
Race 6 :

Gunfire Messiah was a slashing run first up. Steps up to a favourable distance at the right time and should track Jungle Ruler and Our Spur all the way. Should have a little edge in the run of the race compared to dangers Orbit Express and Archie Senior and that's why I've selected him on top. Orbit Express is going well but keep an eye on the track doesn't like it too wet, and Archie Senior showed last start he might be back to his best. Has the job ahead though from out deep and likely to get back in a slowly run race.
Race 7:

Very encouraging run last start from a horse that really fires at this track in Soverign Miss. Hi Speed in this race and Soverign Miss should have every chance to run over the top, I think there will be enough speed for he to figure at odds around the 10-1 mark. Second best looks Banc De Fortune. This is a very classy horse who showed enough recently to expect something now. Might be one for exotics. Then Amberino, who's form is too good to totally ignore.
Race 8:

Gran Sasso gets the nod in the last. I've been itching to get on him at Caulfield over 1400m and here he is. Hopefully the time of the day balances the wide barrier. As it's more often than not the place to be in the last couple of races. Should have won last start, bar for a horse going down in front and it clearly favoured front-runners thereafter. Happy to make him a best bet. Chasm is the second best in the last. Showed alot as a youngster when winning well at Horsham on debut. Then went to Moonee Valley and was unlucky after racing very wide in a good race. Has come back and rewarded followers with a close second and a runnaway win at Geelong. It's right up to winning this. Blind is third best. Will be following these two into the race. Try This and Costa in the Glen are good horses but I'm risking because of drawing low and they have a tendancy to begin slowly which is not advantageous.
